The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, on Friday filed a petition at the tribunal to challenge the victory of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced Akeredolu as the winner of the governorship election in the state after winning in 15 out of the 18 local government areas of the state to lead Jegede.
Other defendants in the petition are; INEC, the All Progressives Congress and the Deputy Governor-elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Jegede is asking the tribunal to declare him winner of the election.
