Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has indicated that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will likely miss Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa on Tuesday.
Buruk said Osimhen is in pain after sustaining an ankle injury in Nigeria’s 1-0 victory against Rwanda on Saturday.
He, however, lamented that the latest injury setback for Osimhen is a shame for the Turkish champions.
“If possible, we want to bring him [Osimhen] here as soon as possible and have him checked,” Buruk said on Now Spor as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.
“It will be clearer tomorrow. He is in pain. He will not be able to play in the match in two days [against South Africa].
“We will see how he is. It was a shame for us,” he stated.
Osimhen was replaced by Panathinaikos’ new signing, Cyriel Dessers, in the first half.
