#OSUN2014: 1.4Million Voters Registered –INEC


The Nigeria Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announce that a of 1,407,222 voters, comprising 661,394 males (47 per cent) and 745,828 females (53 per cent), were registered for the 2014 governorship election in Osun State on Saturday 9th of August a few hours now, according to Punch Newspapers.
The state with 30 local governments has 332 wards, 3,010 polling units and 3,379 voting boots across in the state.
The state currently has two leading candidates, Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola of the All Progressive Congress and Senator Iyiola Omisore of the People Democratic Party which is the opposition party in the state.
29 domestic and foreign observer organisations were on ground and registered by INEC to monitor the conduct of the election.
