Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has stated that the team’s goal is to avenge their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final loss and win the 2025 tournament in Morocco.
Nigeria lost 2-1 to hosts Ivory Coast in the final of the 2023 AFCON, as the country’s search for a fourth AFCON title continues.
Speaking after the AFCON 2025 draw on Monday, where Nigeria was placed in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania, Chelle expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to win the title.
“Yes, it’s going to be difficult to win because there are 24 very good teams and some very good coaches,” he told CAF Media.
