Oyo 2023: Accord National Chairman Disowns State Chairman On Alliance With Makinde Of PDP, Says Adelabu Still In Race

…As 33 Party Chairmen Pledge Support For Adelabu

The National Chairman of Accord,  Malam Muhammad Nalado has debunked rumours that the party has entered into alliance with Gov Seyi Makinde for the March 11 governorship election.

He spoke on Wednesday while reacting to misinformation that the party has entered into a pact to support Gov Makinde, noting that this was far from the truth but the handiwork of political jobbers, whose lies are their stock in trade.

He maintained that the information reaching the National Executive of the party was that the state chairman has sold out, which will be met with stiff penalty.

Nalado declared that Adelabu and all the candidates of Accord for House of Assembly are still in the race.

According to him, ” the misinformation that Accord is in pact with the PDP in Oyo state is nothing can be further from the truth.  We have always been aware of the anti-party antics and activities of the State Chairman, Mr. Kolade Ojo and those encouraging him.

‘We have it on good authority that they collected N500M from Governor Makinde who has been running helter-skelter having known that the people have pitched their tents with Accord and Adelabu.

“Our governorship candidate in Oyo State remains Adebayo Adelabu. We are convinced he has the perfect pedigree to turn Oyo State into an enjoyable haven.

“The party leadership would soon meet to issue appropriate sanctions on the anti-party activities as evidenced in the action of  Kolade Ojo, the party Secretary and those encouraging the anti party activity.”

Similarly, Chairmen of Accord across the 33 local government in the State have dissociated themselves from the latest development.

“The State Chairman and Secretary are on their own. There was no time we had any meeting to support any other candidate other than Adelabu. Adelabu Penkelemesi remains our governorship candidate”.
