Oyo Assembly Passes Forestry Regulation Bill

The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed a bill that would be regulating forestry activities into law in the state.  

The bill titled; “Forestry Amendment Bill 2017 was read for the third time at the floor of the house and was passed at the plenary on Thursday. 

 

Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture,  Hon. Safiu Olalere (Ido state constituency) while presenting the bill informed that the law would regulate the forestry activities and generated more income to the state government.

 

The house which later constituted itself into the committee of who headed by the Speaker Hon. Michael Adeyemo considered the bill clause by clause and passed it into law. 

 

The house also on Thursday read the Oyo state Multi door court house bill 2017 for second time. 

 

Members of the house including the Deputy Speaker, Hon Abdulwasi Musah; Majority leader Hon Kehinde Subair; Hon Gbenga Oyekola and Hon. Fatai Adesina all commended the executive for raising the bill and called for proper deliberation.

 

The multi door court house according to lawmakers has been put into place by the Lagos state which as help the state in the speedy administration of justice.

 

Adeyemo later passed the bill into house committee on justice for further deliberation and report back in 3 weeks.

 

The house has adjourned its sitting till Tuesday 18th July 2017.
