Papaya Ex Alleges Police Officer Assaulted Her Inside Her Vehicle

Nigerian social media influencer Abike Raheem, popularly referred to as Papaya Ex, has alleged that a police officer physically assaulted her during a late-night traffic stop in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

She shared her account during an emotional live session on TikTok on Friday, in which she said the incident occurred while she was on her way home from a movie shoot.

According to her, what started as a calm interaction with the officer soon turned into a heated confrontation.

Papaya Ex alleged that the officer hit her in the face with a gun and also assaulted her driver.

She further claimed that she was touched inappropriately during the encounter and that her phone was taken from her by force.

Although the alleged assault was not recorded, she explained during the live broadcast that a poor network connection prevented her from capturing the moment.

However, she showed a visible mark on her face, which she said was from the incident.

She also claimed that her driver was beaten by the same officer. In addition, she said the officer forcefully took her mobile phone from her during the clash.

In posts shared on her social media pages, the influencer stated that she was attacked inside her car and left bleeding.

She wrote: “nigeriapoliceforce an officer beat me up right inside my car 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭he used his gun on me . Please I’m at Ajah y’all I’m bleedinxgdgsh.”

Videos that later surfaced online captured a tense exchange between her and a man believed to be a police officer, as voices were raised during the argument.

The full details of what led to the confrontation have not been confirmed.

Papaya Ex, who appeared shaken in the circulating clips, also said that residents in Ajah often face harassment from some officers in the area.

She described the situation as something that happens regularly.
