PDP Chieftain, Abidikugu Donates Home Wear Jerseys to 3SC Players, Coaches

A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, ( PDP), Dr. Kazeem Abidikugu has donated homewear jerseys to the feeder team and Coaches of the Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan.

The Jerseys which he donated through his foundation, DAKA foundation was presented to the team on Tuesday.

The presentation was held at 3SC office, Jericho, Ibadan

Abidikugu who is a United Kingdom based Psychiatric Consultant was represented at the presentation by Idris Ajibola Amimasahun .

Speaking at the presentation, Abidikugu said the donation is part of his contribution to the sports and youths development in Oyo State.

He said he is interested in Sports development because sports can be a vital part of positive mental health practices as he makes people to be more resilient to mental strains, building self-confidence, and promoting happiness.

“Sports not only enhance speed, skill, stamina and flexibility but it also increases self-esteem, builds social skills and leadership, increases resilience and inculcates values”, he said.

Abidikugu also said youths can be engaged through sports and that, that will make them to shun bad behaviours

Abidikugu who was a House of Representatives Aspirant in the build up to the last general election promised to champion the development of youths in whatever capacity he found himself

While responding to Abidikugu’s kind gesture, the Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club, Hon. Babatunde Olaniyan popularly known as Akoro said he appreciates the gesture promising that the club will not let its teeming supporters down.

“Our sincere appreciation to an amazing man, a philanthropist,lover of the game, Dr. Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu for his generous support towards our boys.

“These newly donated set of match and training wears shall be donned in our forthcoming NPFL U19 Youth League”, he said.
