Peter Obi Replies Soludo, Says Where I Failed As Anambra Governor, Succeed There As Professor

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi yesterday urged the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to succeed where he failed as governor of the state.

Obi, a former governor of the state, urged Soludo, being a professor of Economics, to do better in tackling the state’s socioeconomic challenges.

Obi stated this on Tuesday at the 2022 Lagos Business School (LBS) Alumni Conference in Lagos while reacting to Soludo’s comments that the investments he (Obi) left in government have depreciated in value.

Governor Soludo had on Monday said Obi knows he cannot and will not win the 2023 presidential election.

Soludo said this in a long article titled “History Beckons and I Will Not Be Silent (Part 1)” posted on his Twitter page on Monday.

The governor was reacting to attacks by Obi’s supporters, known as Obidients, that trailed his earlier statement that Obi’s investments as governor of Anambra were now worth next to nothing.

In the article by the governor released on Monday, Soludo said, “My attention has been drawn to some of the tirades on social media following my frank response during an interview on Channels TV regarding the “investments” Mr Peter Obi claimed to have made with Anambra state revenues.

In his reaction, Obi described Soludo as a more intelligent person who should perform better than him as a governor of Anambra state.

He said, “He (Soludo) remains my brother, we are very close. I remain prayerful for him. For other things which I didn’t succeed, God has given him the opportunity to do it and succeed.

“So, if there is anything pending, governance doesn’t finish, people are still in government in America, so you stop where you will stop, other people will continue from there.

“He is the governor of the state; he is my senior brother. He is even more intelligent than me because he is a professor. I am a trader, so he knows more and will be able to do things better than I am doing it.

“I have done my little own as a trader, now the professor is there, he will do his own as a professor. The schools I didn’t roof, he will roof them, that’s how the government goes.”
