Police Debunks Viral ‘Wanted’ Poster Of Iyabo Ojo
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has refuted a social media “wanted” notice that alleged Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo was being sought by the Office of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit.
The Force described the notice as “false, misleading, and not issued by the Force.” In a post on its official Facebook page, the NPF clarified that the poster did not originate from the Force and was never published on any of its official platforms.
The statement reads:
“FAKE NEWS ALERT! This ‘WANTED’ poster of actress Iyabo Ojo did not emanate from the Nigeria Police Force. It is false, misleading & was never posted on any official NPF platform. Disregard & stop spreading fake news.”
The police further urged Nigerians to confirm information only through official NPF channels before sharing or reacting to news, to avoid falling victim to false reports.
“Verify only from official NPF channels,” the statement emphasized.
