Police Launch Investigation After Broda Shaggi Allegedly Shot on Movie Set

The police commands of Lagos and Ogun States have launched an investigation into reports that Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, was allegedly shot while on a film production set.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon while Broda Shaggi was filming a comedy skit in the Sango-Ota area of Ota of Ogun state.While the exact details of how the shooting happened remain unclear, reports indicated he was with his crew members when he sustained the injury.
It was learnt that Broda Shaggi was immediately rushed by his crew members to the Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where he received initial treatment.Medical personnel at the hospital reportedly administered first aid upon his arrival.
He was later referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, where he is currently recuperating.When contacted, the Lagos State Police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the command was alerted by the hospital where he was treated.
Although the shooting happened outside their jurisdiction, they have initiated an investigation into the matter.“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility.
“Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggy.“He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh.
The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
Her Ogun State counterpart, Oluseyi Babaseyi noted that while the incident allegedly occurred in the state, it had not been officially reported to the local police command at the time of their statement.
“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” he stated.Details regarding who fired the shot or whether it involved live ammunition on a film set remain under investigation.
