Praise Is An Attitude –Cute Sagay
In an interview with Lagos Post, Cute shares what praise means to him. Enjoy it.
What does praise means to you?
Praise means Judah, Judah means praise. It means lifting up the name of the Lord whenever you are. Praise means giving it all to God. Surrender everything to him (God).
How do you feel when you praise him?
You get lifted when you praise him, the Bible says when you praise him blessing comes down. You keep blessed when you praise him. God always wants you to praise him more.
How long have you been singing?
I joined choir at the age of nine. I have been in the music scene for about 25 years.
Who inspired you?
Ehehe…God inspires me and gift he has giving me. You know, there is this privilege when you look inward and you discover that what you are doing is a gift you, get inspired.
How many tracks do you have or album?
Ehehem…no album yet, am not in an hurry…laugh….am not in an hurry at all, but I have a couple single and am currently promoting some of them like ‘Our God, Imela, Make the change, Believer and the rest.
That reminds me, how did you promote your popular track ‘Make the Change’, did it get to your target audience?
For me, the song is still fresh, it has not done what it suppose to do, it has not gotten to my main target audience yet. Nations, Nigeria needs it and the world at large needs to make that change and we all needs to make that change. For me, the song has not attained its maximum potentials. There are still a lot of thing to address in the society, I believe that’s done with the song, make that change.
Have you ever made any attempt to collaborate with Timi Dakolo who I believe that both of your songs are in the same line?
Yeah, yeah, I would love to but when you are trying to make impact sometimes, some people don’t really want to give you that opportunity but you keep pushing. I don’t want to mention names but I know with times there are things I won’t need to push for, they will just come. We have met at events we had a chat together but the truth is that when the right time comes, you won’t need to push more to get anybody’s attention.
What are your plans for the coming days?
Well, we do it one at a time but off-course I plan to put out an album but I have a couple of tours on my concerts in Abuja, Port Harcourt and Balyelsa State. I just concluded one of the concerts on 7 September of this month and it was awesome time. More of those concerts are still coming off-course I will also work on my album.
Tell me about your event Live in Concert?
It was my first concert Live in Concert owned by me called the ‘Alter’ it’s not a onetime thing eventually it was skyrocket, it is not a little project, the project that I know in time will house many great worshipers. Is not for artist is for worshippers. It is not for a special number it is for worshipers who live their heart in true and spirit
What’s your relationship with Toyin and Friends?
They are my family too. We have been together for about ten years. Toyin and Friends is another gathering of worshippers.
How are you planning your way to the top considering that you have good songs?
Good songs… ehheem…you know… first of all you need the backing of the Lord which I have I got it so, you need good promotion, good management, good records label in time like I said one day at a time I know all those things will be unveil but I know am a voice and when that time come I will manifest no point of correction am already manifest. Laugh
Are you under any records label?
No, we are pushing our own thing; I have a couple of team that am working with. I have a team am working with.
Why not under any records label?
Like I said, there is a time for everything, that time will come.
