Nicolas Jackson scored the decisive goal in the 27th minute.
The Senegal international fired into the bottom corner past Jordan Pickford after he was set by Enzo Fernandez.
It was Jackson’s first goal for the Blues in four months.

Enzo Maresca’s team should have had more goals but were thwarted by a stubborn defence and Pickford, who kept out a series of shots.
Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez also pulled off a finger-tip save in the 88th minute to deny Dwight McNeil.
The result lifted Chelsea to fourth in the table, one point behind Manchester City. Everton are 13th.
