President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday expressed “deep sorrow” following the killing of Captain Abdulkareem, the first son of Senator Bala Na’Allah in Kaduna State.
In a statement signed by Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President described the death of Abdulkareem as another tragic chapter in our current security challenges.
“The death of Abdulkareem is another tragic chapter in our current security challenges, but I reassure Nigerians that my commitment to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians remains unwavering,” the President stated.
“I’m saddened by the tragic loss of Abdulkareem and other victims of violence and I wish to appeal to Nigerians to help our security agencies with intelligence in order to track down and bring these terrorist gangs to justice,” he further stressed.
According to President Buhari, “human intelligence is essential to the efforts to defeat these criminals; those who work as informants for criminals are destroying their own communities for the sake of pitiful financial gratification.”
The President prayed to Almighty Allah to repose the soul of the late Abdulkareem and give Senator Bala Na’Allah and his family as well as their friends the strength to bear the “very painful loss.”
Meanwhile, the father of the deceased, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, who is representing Kebbi South Senatorial District has disclosed that the killers of his son, Abdulkareem were not armed.
He noted that they simply gained access to his house through the roof and strangled him.
In the statement, he described his late son as one of the finest ambassadors of his family, saying he did the family proud in his lifetime.
The statement reads: “Let me on behalf of Na’Allah’s family specifically confirm the death of Abdulkareem Na’Allah Snr who was attacked and killed by yet-to-be-identified persons.
“From the reports received so far, his attackers were not armed with guns. They simply gained access to his house through the roof and strangled him to death.
“As a family, we will continue to love him even in death because he was such a wonderful person in his life.
“His life is not better than any other Nigerian. As a family, we leave everything in the hands of Almighty Allah to whom we have since surrendered in pursuit of the strength to bear the loss of Abdulkareem in our family, and by the numerous calls, messages, and visits we have received so far, we have every course to thank Almighty Allah for his love and mercy to the family.”
