Real Madrid have dismissed manager Xabi Alonso with immediate effect following a series of poor results.
The club announced Alonso’s sacking on Monday evening, citing the team’s disappointing performances in recent weeks. The decision comes a day after Real Madrid suffered a defeat to Barcelona in a cup match on Sunday.
In his place, the club has appointed Álvaro Arbeloa as the new Head Coach. Arbeloa takes over the role with immediate effect as Real Madrid looks to stabilize the team and improve results going forward.
