Remember Rashidi Yekini!
Born in Kaduna State, Northern Nigeria on the 23rdOctober, 1963 Rashidi Yekini former Super Eagle’s striker began his career in Nigeria League UNTL Kaduna in 1981-1982, Shooting Star 1982-1984, Abiola Babes 1984-1987 he moved on to African Sports 1987-1990, Vitória Setúbal 1990–1994, Olympiacos 1994–1995, Sporting Gijón 1995–1996, Vitória Setúbal 1997, Zürich 1997–1998, Bizerte 1998–1999, Al-Shabab 1999, Africa Sports 1999–2002, Julius Berger 2002–2003, Gateway 2005.
He Scored 37 goals for Nigeria in 58 appearances, he participate in the world cup 1994 where Nigeria win against Bulgaria in 3-0. He was among the team that won 1994 African Cup of Nations and also participates in Seoul in 1988 Olympics.
He died in Ibadan South – West, Nigeria after a long ailment on the 4 May 2012 at the age of 48.
He will be remembered for his role in the national team while alive.
