Leaders are not made of oaks and rocks, one doesn’t have to get a degree in petrology to know a leader. As Ralph Wado Emerson says” every great institution is a shadow of a single man” Here is a leader par excellence whose ability to reflect hastily and handle challenges with perception has resulted in his business ventures now spreading wide like an inferno in woodland. This is translating vision into a broad reality. He is a leader who takes care of little mistakes, reflects and acts pronto. That he rises to the top meteorically can only spring surprises to those who are caught unaware of his “Midas touch”.
When last he lost the political contest, many thought that it would come as a ” faithless misfortune” but surprisingly, he rather sees it as an “investment into the future”. Like a restless eagle that fared well in a turbulent weather, he has never seen failure as final. He sees it as part of the learning curve to be better and more mature. He believes and always encourages others that” we should not be consumed with the past when the future holds more opportunities for us”.
Oloye ADELABU ADEBAYO is a star in the works of Friedrich Nietsche , whose source of happiness is rooted on those on whom he shinest. He doesn’t share Marxist beliefs in each one according to his needs. He shares his wealth and as G Marcel says ” exist to coexist. He builds happiness in the souls of the people.
Like his grandfather, the man of panache and eclat, late Adegoke ADELABU, Adebayo’s best moments are when he is in the midst of people. His only turn off is intolerable insolence , to him everybody matters. ADELABU foundation has continued to be a beehive of activities where the old and the young go as he provides enablements to their various aspirations.
Another rare quality that stands out is his bluntness. He is not one to build your castle in Spain nor tell you buttered lies to curry your favour. He says it as it is. He can be frank to a fault.
He inspires others to be better. He must be on president John Quincy mind when he said ” if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader”
He is not a leader with a flutter of words. He rarely talks when a nod will do. When he talks people know he has marshalled his facts and figure, and there will be a pin drop silence. When I ventured to ask him why he doesn’t come on air often to reel his facts. He replied ” I am not a Carping critic. I don’t talk merely to vilify the Government, that is dirt cheap. I only talk when I observe a ” ticking time bomb waiting to go off ” and convince myself that the little sore is becoming cancerous. There is no wrong action, just choices and consequences.”
Today is not to write an epistle about the Sterling qualities of ADELABU ADEBAYO. It’s a glorious day to be thankful to God for giving the mankind this priceless gift ,it’s a day that Billy Collins in his famous Sonnet describes as “a day that Laura will tell Patriarch to put down his pen and sing to the glory of God”
