At the sitting presided over by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, Majority Leader Major Jack laid before the House allegations of gross misconduct levelled against the governor, in line with provisions of the Constitution.
A total of 26 lawmakers signed the petition initiating the impeachment step against Fubara.
Amaewhule, citing legislative procedure, disclosed that the notice will be formally delivered to the governor within seven days.
Similarly, Deputy Majority Leader Linda Stewart presented the notice outlining alleged constitutional breaches attributed to the deputy governor.
The development was captured in a live broadcast monitored on Channels Television as tension heightened within the political space in the state.
Details of allegations were not immediately made public as the process unfolds.
