The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has accused the Rivers State Police Command of taking sides against him in the political crisis rocking the state.
He made the allegation when he spoke with journalists after an encounter with security operatives on Monday.
This followed the pouring of water at the Governor and his entourage by a police vehicle and the firing of teargas and gunshots by the operatives.
The incident took place at the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex on Monday.
This followed the visit to the complex by Fubara after a fire outbreak at the Assembly on Sunday night.
According to Fubara, he did not mind losing his life over the move to impeach him by the House, but burning the Assembly complex was not acceptable.
Speaking with newsmen, he said it was a sad development that nine years after the state overcame such political fracas, it was now rearing its head again.
