Sanwo-Olu Celebrates Women On Mothers Day

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined the rest of the world in commemorating Mother’s Day on Sunday, extending his appreciation to mothers within the state.
In a message shared on his official 𝕏 account, the governor commended mothers for their sacrifices and their role in shaping families, communities and the future of the state.
Sanwo-Olu said the influence of mothers stretches far beyond the home, noting that their resilience, care and commitment continue to mould the next generation and strengthen society.
The governor wrote, “One day is hardly enough to appreciate all that mothers do. From the quiet sacrifices made at home to the impact they have across our economy and communities, mothers help shape families and the future of our state.
“To every mother raising the next generation of Lagosians, thank you for your patience, your resilience, and your love. We see you, and we appreciate you.
“I hope you have a restful and beautiful day. You deserve it.”
The governor wished mothers a joyful celebration and encouraged them to take time to rest and enjoy the appreciation that accompanies the annual observance.
Mother’s Day is celebrated worldwide to honour mothers and recognise their influence in families and communities. In many parts of Nigeria, including Lagos, it is observed on the second Sunday of May, although some regions follow the March celebration known as Mothering Sunday.
