COVID-19: Nigeria Records 558 Confirmed New Cases, Two Deaths

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday July 29, 2021 announced five hundred and fifty eight (558) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

Two (2) persons were reported dead on Thursday.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.

“Today’s report includes 0 cases from Kaduna, Nasarawa, Ondo, and Osun States,” NCDC said.

As of  Thursday July 29, there are 11,750 active cases in Nigeria.
