Southern Governors Meet in Ogun State

The Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun on Monday welcomed twelve (12) of his counterparts from Southern Nigeria to the state’s presidential lodge in Abeokuta.

According to a post by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his X handle formerly Twitter on Monday, the Southern Governors Forum serves as the collective body for the 17 governors from the South-West, South-South, and South-East geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

The governors are Babajide Sanw-Olu of Lagos State, Seyi Makinde, Oyo,  Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Alex Otii of Abia State, Ademola Adeleke of Osun and Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State.

Others include Ekiti State’s Biodun Oyebanji, Cross River’s Bassey Otu, Imo State Deputy Governor, Chinyere Ekomaru, Delta State Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, and Ondo State Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami.

At approximately 1:18 pm, the governors convened for a closed-door meeting within the Marque hall. 

Notably, a banner displayed at the venue had indicated that all 17 Southern governors were expected to participate in this gathering.
