Success FC Wins GOtv Hood to Hood Championship
At the end of the match, Success FC team were presented with GOtv branded gold medals, a gold trophy and the cash prize of Three Hundred Thousand Naira Only while Rainbow FC got silver medals, a silver trophy and the cash prize of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only.
Both sides justified their qualification for the finals with entertaining display of football skills but were unable to find the back of the net in both halves of the game. The game was witnessed by the supporters of the two teams as well as other sports loving Nigerians who trooped to the stadium.
A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Alimosho Constituency 1 and House Committee Chairman on Transport, Commerce & Industry, Hon. Abdul Rahman Bisi Yussuf and a fan of the Rainbow FC was at the stadium to cheer his team. Ex- Golden Eaglet Captain for the 1989 Olusegun Fetuga and Ex- Super Eagles Star, Golden Ajeboh were also at the stadium.
Side attraction at during the finals at the stadium was a special music performance by a popular music star and the sho le crooner Sean Tizzle who thrilled the fans to his various hit tracks at half time. Leading Nollywood Actress, Doris Simon was also at the venue of the finals and one of the special guests that presented the players with medals.
In the third place match played just before the finals at the same venue between Satech FC and Juventus FC, Satech FC defeated Juventus FC by 3 goals to nothing to clinch the third position carting home the One Hundred Thousand Naira prize money while Juventus were also presented with a consolatory prize of Fifty Thousand Naira only.
Speaking during the presentation of prizes, the General Manager GOtv, Mrs Elizabeth Amkpa expressed satisfaction with the tournament noting that the 16 teams that participated in the maiden edition of the Hood to Hood championship put up a good fight.
She also praised the supporters and fans of grassroots teams that participated in the championship for their peaceful conduct throughout the tournament.
