The Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh has tendered his resignation letter to the NFF quitting his post as the head coach of the national team with immediate effect.In a letter sent to the Nigeria Football Federation, Oliseh thanked the NFF for the opportunity to serve the country as a player and coach.
He took over the Super Eagles top job in July 2015, led the team to 14 international games and lost two.
Oliseh had earlier in an online recording, after losing in 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda, described his critics as insane and accused some ex-internationals as part of the problem affecting the development of Nigerian football.
While responding to questions on Channels Television, President of Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick described Oliseh’s resignation as a rude shock.
“This is happening at a very wrong time. Just when I was thinking, the NFF is getting it right with the coach and now this is happening. We just paid owed allowances and getting ready for the crucial game against Egypt. This is not good for our football”.
