Super Falcons Head Coach, Waldrum Quits

The head coach of the Super Falcons, Randy Waldrum has reportedly submitted his resignation letter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Waldrum is quitting the role after close to four years in charge of the nine-time African champions.

The 67-year-old took charge of the team in October 2021.

The American cited his wife’s health challenges as the reason for his decision to step down from the post.

“It’s been a very difficult few weeks following the Olympics, with my wife’s health issues, and the worries that obviously come with that,” reads a part of his resignation letter.

” After much thought and consideration, I am hereby resigning my position as Head Coach of the Super Falcons. This will allow the NFF ample time to find the next manager to take over this incredible squad.”

Waldrum guided the team to fourth position at the 2022 Africa Women’s Nations Cup.

The Super Falcons however put up a respectable showing at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup where they bowed out on penalties to England in the Round of 16.
