According to a report by National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) today (Sunday) confirmed 44 persons dead in the aftermath of the building that collapsed in the premises of the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Ikotun area of Lagos State last Friday.
The church is owned by the popular Lagos Pastor, Temitope Joshua.
NEMA also reports that 130 people have also so far been rescued alive.
A six-storey building which was within the premises of the Church was being raised to eight-storey when it suddenly collapses while construction work was on going.
Hundreds of workers and worshippers were said to be trapped under the building at the time.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and NEMA are still searching to make sure that those still trapped in the building are rescued.
“We are still searching for those trapped in the building so the figure may increase later,” NEMA spokesperson, Ibrahim Farinloye added.
