The Dream Lives On: Why I Accept The Call To Serve

By Yemi Amodu
Good day, my people.
Good morning, KONGE IRE, the Team Solutions. Great members of Lagos Foundation.
I have cried. I have prayed. I have thought long into the night.
You know the dream I carried.
A dream of a TAMPAN that takes care of the below-the-line.
A dream of welfare that works.
A dream of equity, dignity, and a better tomorrow for every member, in every state.
You believe in it. I believe in it. We built that hope together.
The road is just extended and not blocked… Our fathers said we must encourage peace and sustain the oneness of TAMPAN. Presidency has one seat and can only be filled by one candidate at a time. But Ti o ba si baba omo, iya a je omo. Comrades, I have a choice to make. And I choose YOU. Today, I am ready to heed the call to serve… I will take the Secretariat. I will serve as Secretary.
Not because I gave up on the dream. But because this is how I guarantee your space. This is how I guarantee your representation at the very table where decisions are made. This is how I ensure your ambitions in this struggle do not die.
If I walk away, we lose everything. If I stay within, we still have a chance to help the TAMPAN, our choice association.
So I oblige them.
Not for title. Not for position, but for you the makeup artist, the grip, the costume designer, the actor, the crew. The ones the society do not recognize.
I promise you this before God and before TAMPAN, that I will do all it takes to ensure your interests are secured. I will slug it out inside those rooms so your dreams are fulfilled.
I will be your voice where they thought you had none.
The presidency was one path. The Secretariat is another. But the destination is the same… A better TAMPAN.
Comrades, let go to explore. Let us go to work. The dream did not die. It just changed clothes and time of actualization.
And together, we will see it live.

For YOU. For IS. For the DREAM.
