Three Nigerian Senators switched political parties on Wednesday, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection was announced during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The lawmakers, in separate letters, cited the internal crisis and leadership issues affecting the PDP for their decisions to defect to the APC.
The defectors are:
1. Sen. Ikra Bilbis, Senator representing Zamfara Central
2. Sen. Aminu Iya Abbas, Senator representing the Adamawa Central
3. Sen. Amos Yohanna, Senator representing Adamawa North.
