Nigeria’s sprinter Enoch Adegoke on Sunday qualified for the finals of the men’s 100m event at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Adegoke on Saturday qualified for the semi-final, after emerging first in his heat, clocking a new personal best of 9.98seconds.
Adegoke also ran 10.15 seconds in his first-round heat.
But in the second semi-final of the event on Sunday, Adegoke came second behind Britain’s Zhana Hughes to secure the second automatic slot and qualify for the final.

He becomes the third athlete to make the final of the 100m event at the Olympics after the duo of Davidson Ezinwa and Olapade Adeniken.
This is also the first time since 1996 that Nigeria will be making an appearance in the blue riband final.
