The clue is in the name with this icy country – it’s name by itself creates the image of the coldest country in the world. Iceland’s temperatures can drop to 30 degrees Celsius during winter and will rarely rise above freezing. However, the views of the snowy landscapes are a wonderful sight to behold.
Finland
If sunlight is something that helps you get up in the morning, you’ll be shocked to know that in the northernmost part of Finland, the sun does not rise above the horizon for two months of winter! In other parts however, at least you will get 6 hours of daylight – if sub-zero temperatures of up to minus 45 degrees is something you are willing to deal with for the magnificent experiences and sights to see in this country.
Greenland
As Greenland is located in the North Pole region, it is a given that it might be a bit colder temperature wise. Do not let the name fool you – though there are beautiful sceneries to see, chances are that they are white rather than green due to the large amounts of ice that cover the terrain! Even in the summer, temperatures remain below 7 degrees Celsius.
Canada
