The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has mandated the dismissal of eight operatives from the Agunechemba Security outfit. This action follows their involvement in the assault of Jennifer Elobor, a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
On Monday, a video of armed security operatives under the umbrella of the Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, assaulting the corps member went viral.
Speaking on the situation, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, said the state had also covered the victim’s medical bills, replaced her damaged valuables and tendered a public apology to her family and the NYSC.
He disclosed this on Wednesday while addressing newsmen.
According to Emeakayi, the operatives, who claimed they were in pursuit of suspected cultists, acted outside their mandate and would be handed over to the police for prosecution.

Further confirmation came on Wednesday when a state government delegation met with Oba Ladoja and members of the Olubadan-in-Council at his Bodija residence.
Steve Oliyide, media aide to Senator Gbenga Daniel, stated that the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not officially informed Senator Daniel of his suspension.
Oliyide, in an interview with Channels Television, explained that no formal letter had been delivered to the Ogun East lawmaker regarding the alleged offences or his purported suspension.
His clarification followed the announcement by the Ogun APC that Daniel and another member, Kunle Folarin, had been suspended for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State chapter, has announced the suspension of former Governor of the state and Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and Hon Kunle Folarin over alleged anti-party activities.
In a statement by the Director of Publicity for the party in the state, Nuberu Olufemi, the state chapter has ratified the decision to suspend the two members by their respective wards.
The state Chairman of the state chapter of the party, Chief Yemi Sanusi presided over the meeting where the suspension was ratified with 16 other members in attendance.
The Ogun State High Court in Sagamu has ordered Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the former governor and current senator for Ogun East, to provide property documents for his private residence, Asoludero Court in Sagamu GRA, and for Conference Hotels and its annexes.
Justice O.S. Oloyede gave the directive on Tuesday during the resumed hearing of suit No. HCS/371/2025, Otunba Justus Gbenga Daniel and Anor vs The Governor of Ogun State and Others.

Yoruba elders and leaders have intervened on Tuesday in the conflict between Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi.
The row began on Monday after the Alaafin gave the Ooni a 48-hour ultimatum to reverse a title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland conferred on a businessman, Dotun Sanusi.
But reacting, the Ooni’s spokesperson, Moses Olafare, said the monarch had directed him to ignore the Alaafin’s outburst and leave the matter “in the court of public opinion.”
