  1. Osun 2026: Adeleke Seeking New Party Platform to Run – PDP Chieftain

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kamorudeen Ajisafe, has stated that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke is looking for a platform to contest the 2026 governorship election.

Ajisafe, the National Deputy Vice Chairman, South West, of the PDP, said this on Monday on a private radio programme: “Frank Talk.”

He said the crisis in the party would, for now, not allow it to present a candidate for any election.

  1. Naira Strengthens to ₦1,467 Per Dollar on the Parallel Market

The Naira strengthened to N1,467 per dollar in the parallel market today, up from N1,470 per dollar on Monday.

However, the naira depreciated to N1,458 per dollar in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).

Data published by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), showed that the exchange rate for the naira rose to N1,458 per dollar from N1,447 per dollar on Monday, indicating N11 depreciation for the naira.

  1. Lagos Set to Roll Out 78 Electric Ferries Under the Omi-Eko Project

The Lagos State Government reaffirmed its dedication to waterway safety while advancing plans to roll out 78 electric ferries as part of the Omi Eko Project.

The government also announced plans to install modern concrete floating structures known as pontoons at jetties across the state to support passengers’ safety while boarding.

This was made known by the Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Dayo Bush Alebiosu, in a Tuesday statement.

Mohammed stated this while speaking with newsmen during the clash between two PDP factions at the national secretariat in Abuja.

“We are not just here to cause trouble; this is our own place, and some impostors who have been expelled by the convention, which is the highest decision-making organ of the party, came to cause commotion.

  1. Nigeria’s Foreign Reserve Hits $46 Billion

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Yemi Cardoso, has announced that Nigeria’s foreign reserve now exceeds $46 billion.

Mr Cardoso made this known at the opening of the Monetary Policy Department’s 20th anniversary colloquium in Abuja on Tuesday morning.

According to him, this marks the first time the country reached such a level since 2018, and it could cover over 10 months of imports.

  1. UN Security Council Approves Trump’s Proposed Gaza Plan

The UN Security Council on Monday adopted a resolution endorsing a Gaza peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump and a temporary international force in the enclave after two years of conflict.

The Resolution 2803 (2025) received 13 votes in favour and none against, with permanent members China and Russia abstaining.

The text of the resolution welcomes the Comprehensive Plan announced by Trump on September 29.

  1. I Acted Irresponsibly’ In Fight With Mr. Jollof, Says VDM

Popular social media personality Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has issued a public apology following his in-flight confrontation with comedian Freedom Atsepoyi (widely known as Mr. Jollof), which caused delays on a flight on United Nigeria Airlines on Monday.

In a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, Otse said that he took ‘full responsibility’ for the disruption and acknowledged that the incident should not have happened.

‘I would really like to apologise for what happened yesterday on the United Nigerian Airlines. What happened yesterday was not supposed to happen, and I will take full responsibility for it’, he said.

  1. Police Teargas Rival PDP Factions at National Secretariat

Clashes broke out at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters in Abuja, prompting police to fire teargas to disperse supporters as rival factions continued their leadership dispute.

Chaos broke out at Wadata Plaza as Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, his Bauchi State counterpaprt, Senator Bala Mohammed, and the national leaders elected during the party’s controversial convention last week in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, arrived the secretariat, triggering clashes with the police and supporters of another faction, led by the factional National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who tried to block their entry.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, who leads the Anyanwu faction, also arrived at Wadata Plaza but is yet to alight from his car, where he has remained for over 30 minutes, as at the time of this report.

  1. FG Pledges to Secure the Release of Abducted Kebbi Schoolgirls

The Federal Government has condemned the assault on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga in Kebbi State, which resulted in the death of the Vice-Principal and the abduction of 25 students.

In a statement by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, on Monday, the Federal Government said that security and intelligence agencies had been given clear directives to locate, rescue, and safely return the students, and to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The government expressed deep concern and solidarity with the families of the abducted students, saying it shares in their pain and remains firmly committed to securing the release of the girls.

  1.  Atiku Condemns Kebbi School Attack, Calls on Government for Immediate Action

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged the federal government to swiftly reform the nation’s security framework.

Abubakar was reacting to the gunmen attack on the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) Maga in Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi state.

Nafi’u Abubakar Kotarkoshi, spokesperson of the Kebbi police command, said the assailants abducted 25 students during the incident.
