  1. Kanu to Know Fate Today in Terrorism Case Judgment

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice James Omotosho, is scheduled to deliver its judgment today in the protracted legal dispute between the Federal Government and Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The ruling is anticipated to address several critical issues in the case.

Justice James Omotosho is expected to rule on several applications filed by both parties, including Kanu’s challenge to the competence of the terrorism charges against him and his request for release on the grounds of alleged unlawful detention and violation of his fundamental rights.

Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services since June 2021 following what his lawyers describe as “extraordinary rendition” from Kenya, is facing seven terrorism-related charges bordering on incitement, running an unlawful organisation and actions deemed threatening to national security, allegations he denies.

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie secured her third consecutive Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award at the 2025 CAF Awards ceremony in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday night.

Her compatriot and Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, was only close to winning her first Women’s Player of the Year Award, but she was beaten to the honour by Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak.

Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi also won the prestigious Men’s Player of The Year Award ahead of Super Eagles striker and 2023 winner, Victor Osimhen, as well as 2018 winner, Mohamed Salah. Hakimi’s win ended Nigeria’s back-to-back triumph with Osimhen (2023) and Ademola Lookman (2024).

  1. FG, States, LGs Share N2.094trn Revenue for October 2025

The Federal Government, States, and Local Government Councils received a total share of N2.094 trillion from the October 2025 Federation Account Revenue.

The revenue was shared at the November 2025 Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting held in Abuja, on Wednesday according to a statement by Mr Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations.

The N2.094 trillion total distributable revenue comprised distributable statutory revenue of N1.376 trillion, distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N670.303 billion, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of N47.870 billion.

The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to stand in unity against terrorism, banditry, and all forms of criminality. Citizens are implored to resist all attempts to fuel division, particularly through the use of misinformation or by framing recent attacks along religious lines.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, urged citizens to resist attempts to stoke division through misinformation or by giving a religious framing to recent attacks and criminality.

He said, “Our common enemies are terrorists, bandits, and criminals seeking to destabilise our nation.

  1.  Morocco Edges Nigeria to Claim Two Major CAF Awards

Morocco secured both the CAF Women’s Player of the Year and the CAF Men’s Player of the Year in the 2025 Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards, taking the top spots ahead of Nigeria.

At the awards in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, Nigeria took home two awards that were not considered as prestigious as the two.

Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi was named the 2025 African Footballer of the Year by CAF on Wednesday after an exceptional season for both club and country.

  1.  Labour Party Senator Dies In London

Senator Okey Ezea, the lawmaker representing Enugu North senatorial District in Enugu State, has reportedly passed away.

Ezeah was elected under the Labour Party (LP) and was the only remaining member in the National Assembly from Enugu State.

According to Daily Post, findings indicate that Ezeah, who was earlier treated in Germany, passed on Tuesday in the United Kingdom while receiving treatment.

  1.  Police Seal PDP Headquarters, Stop Turaki-Led Faction’s NWC Meeting

There was heightened tension at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday after police sealed off the premises with barbed-wire barricades, preventing the Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) from holding its rescheduled inaugural meeting.

Operatives from the Rapid Deployment Barrier Unit of the FCT Police Command mounted the barricade at the main entrance, restricting movement in and out of the headquarters’ premises.

The security lockdown, which began early in the day after the secretariat was sealed on Tuesday evening, unsettled party members, staff, and journalists who arrived to find the entire complex cordoned off, with officers stationed across the perimeter.

  1.  INEC Rejects Mohammed as PDP Acting Chairman, Nullifies Anyanwu’s Letter

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rejected a letter from the Samuel Anyanwu faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the submission “did not satisfy the legal requirements.”

The Nation Newspaper reports that the letter, jointly signed by Abdulrahaman Mohammed and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, had sought the postponement of the Ekiti Governorship Primary scheduled for November 8, 2025.

The faction claimed that “logistical reasons” made it impossible to conduct the exercise as planned.

  1.  Shettima Visits Kebbi, Meets With Families of Kidnapped Schoolgirls

Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Kebbi State on Wednesday to hold talks with the state government and the families of the abducted girls from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, who were taken by armed bandits.

Shettima’s aircraft touched down at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, where top state officials received him.

The Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Zubaida Umar, and other senior government aides accompanied him.

  1. Tinubu Delays Trip, Directs Deployment of Additional Security Personnel

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delayed his planned visit to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, while awaiting additional security briefings on the Kebbi schoolgirls who were kidnapped and the attack on Christ Apostolic Church worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State.

In response to the request by the governor of Kwara State, President Tinubu has ordered the deployment of more security men to Eruku and the entire Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, and directed the police to go after the bandits who attacked worshippers. 

President Tinubu was scheduled to leave Abuja today to attend the 20th G20 Summit of leaders in South Africa and thereafter proceed to Luanda to attend the 7th AU-EU Summit.
