The foiled conspiracy, uncovered several weeks ago by defence intelligence operatives, reportedly involved plans for the coordinated assassination of senior political and military figures.

This will include top officials in the Presidency, National Assembly principal officers, key security chiefs, and the National Security Adviser.

He described Ponzi schemes as fraudulent investment operations that pay returns to old investors from money collected from new entrants rather than from any genuine business activity.
