  1. Bauchi Governor Slams Wike, Fayose, Ortom, Others 

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has slammed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his loyalists for threatening the planned Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention.

Wike and his allies had raised a counter force against the party’s national convention, scheduled to hold in Ibadan on November 15-16.

The leaders under the platform of Eminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP in Abuja on Monday night, demanded fresh congresses in Ebonyi, Anambra, and Ekiti states to address what they described as outstanding disputes.

  1. Court Orders DNA Test on Mohbad’s Son

The Ikorodu Magistrate Court on Tuesday mandated DNA tests for Liam Aloba, the son of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.

DNA tests must be carried out at an accredited and recognized hospital, both in Nigeria and internationally.

Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga gave the order while ruling on an application filed by late Mohbad’s Father, Joseph Aloba, who sought a paternity test.

  1. Datti Baba-Ahmed Links Insecurity to Electoral Fraud

The Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 Vice Presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed,  stated that insecurity in Nigeria will persist until politicians cease manipulating elections.

Baba-Ahmed stated this on Tuesday while responding to questions in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.

He said Nigerians can only have true leaders when they are genuinely elected.

  1. FG, National Assembly Approve WAEC’s Full Transition to CBT By 2026

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is set to transition fully to Computer-Based Testing (CBT) by 2026, a move supported by both the Federal Government and the National Assembly.

Speaking at a sensitisation meeting with lawmakers and stakeholders in Abuja, the Minister of Education, Maruf Alausa, said the nationwide adoption of CBT would strengthen Nigeria’s student assessment system and transform the education sector.

“We have undertaken to migrate public examinations to computer-based technology as a deliberate step to secure the integrity of our education system. While some initially opposed this transition, we knew that business as usual could no longer suffice,” Alausa said.

  1. Tinubu Recalls NTA’s DG, ED News

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

This was made known in a statement on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Dembos briefly vacated the post following some management changes in the agency.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced that its National Convention, where elections will be held, is still set for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

During the inauguration of the National Convention Committee at the party headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, Ambassador Iliya Damagum, the acting National Chairman, refuted claims of internal party divisions.

He said, “Those against the convention are detractors who will not succeed. The PDP is alive and strong, and we are ready to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.”

The Yoruba movie industry and the family of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola are mourning the loss of her only son, Shina.

The distressing news reached the 56-year-old actress while she was reportedly engaged in filming on a movie set.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has dismissed as “screwed and unsolicited” the advice offered by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), and law professor Chidi Odinkalu, regarding his undeclared interest in the 2027 presidential election.

Keyamo and Odinkalu had used separate platforms to warn Jonathan not to join the 2027 race, offering reasons for their positions.

Reacting through his brother, Robert Azibaola, Jonathan told the two lawyers to steer clear of his political journey.

Katsina State Police Command operatives have seized a large arms cache and apprehended gun runners, recovering a GPMG and 1,295 rounds of ammunition.

The Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, disclosed this to the media in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Mua’zu said the interception of the weapons, which he described as delivering a crushing blow to criminal networks, was achieved in the early hours of the day.

  1. I Will Remove One Million Votes From Tinubu’s Votes – Marafa 

A former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Senator Kabiru Marafa, has pledged to reduce President Bola Tinubu’s vote count by at least one million in the 2027 general elections.

The former Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign Council in Zamfara stated this during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Monday.

“Now, whether Mr President would win or not is a question of seeing, but I want to assure you of something today. I am going to deduct one million votes from Mr President’s votes that he got in 2023. Mark my words. 2027 is going to determine who is a featherweight,” Marafa said on Monday on the show.
