Tragedy As Eight Children Found Dead In Locked Vehicle In Lagos

A monumental tragedy was reportedly occurred in the Badagry area of Lagos State during the weekend as eight (8) children between the age of four and Six years were found dead in a parked vehicle at Adelayo Street, Agunaje, along Badagry Expressway in Lagos.

The children were said to be playing inside the parked vehicle when they accidentally triggered the child lock mechanism and they were trapped and later suffocated in the vehicle .

One of the parents of the children made the grim discovery on Saturday December 4, 2021 and subsequently raised the alarm

The Police Statement on the Tragedy :

“The eight children were said to have mistakenly locked themselves in an abandoned car while playing. Their bodies have been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy so as to determine the actual cause of death.

Notwithstanding the report made to the Police, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough and speedy investigation into the circumstances surrounding their death. The CP also commiserates with the families of the victims.”
