
A train has crushed one of the luxury buses in the fleet of the newly-introduced Lagos State bus service.
The Eagle Online reports that the accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday at Ikeja Along area of the state.
From the photographs and video, it seemed the train dragged the bus from the level crossing coming out of Ikeja towards Ajayi Farm area before stopping.
From the driver’s side, the bus was damaged to about the middle area.
The Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Gboyega Akosile confirmed the incident in a tweet on Twitter.
“Good morning. There’s been a major accident involving a train and a BRT bus early this morning. Our first responders are on ground, working to rescue passengers. No information yet about fatalities but a number of casualties confirmed. Further details will come later. Thank you”.
