Tribute To Dr. Adadevoh: My Heart Is Filled With Pride And Pain -Son Says Goodbye

Dr. AdadevohThis was containing in the tribute given by Bankole Cardoso, son of late Doctor Stella Ameyo Adadevoh on September 11, 2014 at a night of tributes held in her honour at an event held on the Victoria Island in Lagos.

Dr. Adadevoh was the doctor that contacted the deadly virus from the first index case, the ECOWAS Envoy late Patrick Sawyer who brought the disease (Ebola) to Lagos from Libaria.

As we mourn the loss of my Mum, a daughter, sister, wife, niece, cousin and aunt- we are humbled and overwhelmed by the great outpouring of love and gratitude we have received from everyone.

My mum paid the ultimate price to contain the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Nigeria and as the accolades grow louder; my heart swells with equal measure of great pride and great pain. Still we are a praying family and as we say farewell, our hearts are at peace in the belief that all events occur with the consent of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your many tributes and compassionate words of comfort. The calls from the Nigerian public, for a lasting tribute to mark her professional commitment leave me inspired and grateful that my dearest mum (Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh) was given this opportunity to serve her country.

My Prayer is that The Almighty God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, will be with you and your loved ones, keep his banner of love over you and wrap His unfailing arms of protection around you always.

Thank you

Bankole Cardoso-Son
