The United States President, Donald Trump has announced that an agreement to sell TikTok in the United States will be finalised before the April 5 deadline.
The popular video-sharing app, owned by China’s ByteDance, faces a potential ban unless it transitions to American ownership under a 2024 national security law.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump revealed strong investor interest in acquiring TikTok, stating, “We have a lot of potential buyers. I’d like to see TikTok remain alive.”
The US government has raised concerns over data privacy risks tied to ByteDance’s Chinese ownership.
