Trump Posts Image Declaring Himself ‘Acting President of Venezuela’

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has declared himself the “Acting President of Venezuela.”
This was revealed in a post shared on his Truth Social account.
The post included an image styled like a Wikipedia entry, showing him as both the 45th and 47th President of the United States and now in charge of Venezuela starting January 2026.
The image also displayed his official portrait and the name of his U.S. vice president, JD Vance.
This declaration followed Trump’s previous statement that the United States would oversee Venezuela until a stable and proper leadership transition could occur.
He described the move as a way to maintain order in the country and manage its resources, particularly oil, in a manner that would benefit both Venezuela and the United States.
Trump’s post outlined plans to bring between 30 and 50 million barrels of Venezuelan oil under U.S. control for sale in international markets.
The announcement also included a warning to Cuba, suggesting that Havana should cooperate with the United States or risk losing access to Venezuelan oil supplies, a key source of support for the island nation.
