President Bola Tinubu‘s administration is fully committed to eradicating terrorism and achieving lasting peace nationwide. He assured Nigerians that the Federal Government is actively intensifying its collaboration with international partners to bolster national security.
Speaking at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu stated that his government was working closely with the global community to address threats that undermine Nigeria’s stability.
“Despite the political headwinds and the fear of our people, we continue to engage our partners. We are engaging the world diplomatically,” the President said.
He described international collaboration as a crucial component of Nigeria’s security strategy.
Tinubu reaffirmed that terrorism would be crushed and peace restored nationwide, stating that his administration remained focused on the Renewed Hope Agenda despite prevailing economic and security challenges.
“I assure you all that we will defeat terrorism. The task ahead is to move forward with clarity of purpose guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda to build a prosperous Nigeria,” he added.
Tinubu’s stand comes hours after Trump intensified his threat of military action in Nigeria, saying he would not rule out air strikes or boots on the ground to halt what he described as the targeted killing of Christians in the West African country.
Trump, who on October 31 redesignated Nigeria a “country of particular concern”, reiterated the warning in a video message on Wednesday in which he accused “radical Islamists” of carrying out a “mass slaughter” of Christians and said Washington would act if the Nigerian government failed to stop the violence.
