United Nations Appoints M.I and Joke Silva As Goodwill Ambassadors

Veteran actress Joke Silva and the popular Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga fondly called M.I has been decorated as goodwill ambassadors for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, (UNODC).
The two were decorated on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Abuja, during the launch of the ‘I am Priceless’ campaign against human trafficking and smuggling of migrants into the country.
United Nations (UN) resident coordinator, Angela Atangana make it known to the public that the campaign was sponsored by the European Union (EU) and NAPTIP (National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons) in order to draw the attention of many ills in the society.

She stressed that the entertainment industry has a role to play in the correction of certain ills, which makes the organization to select the duo to help with the campaign.
Joke Silva will be the goodwill ambassador against human trafficking; while M.I will be the goodwill ambassador against smuggling of migrants.
The campaign is expected to run for a period of three years and it will be implemented in Lagos, Edo, Benue, Anambra, Cross-river, Niger and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
