US Election: Biden Will Be Next President, Obama Tells Trump

Former United States President, Barack Obama in an interview on CBS Sunday Morning’s Gayle King show, said that Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States of America regardless of the shenanigans of President Donald Trump.

“Look, Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States; Kamala Harris will be the next vice president,” he said.

The former president advised President Trump to concede that his time is up.

“A president is a public servant. They are temporary occupants of the office, by design,” Obama told correspondent Scott Pelley. “And when your time is up, then it is your job to put the country first and think beyond your own ego, and your own interests, and your own disappointments.”

The former US President said this hours after Trump took to Twitter to announce that he’s going to challenge the election result with big suits.

In a previous interview, Obama slammed the Republican party for tagging along with Trump in casting aspersions on Biden and democracy.

“They appear to be motivated, in part, because the president doesn’t like to lose and never admits loss,” he said.

“I’m more troubled by the fact that other Republican officials who clearly know better are going along with this, are humouring him in this fashion.

“It is one more step in delegitimizing not just the incoming Biden administration, but democracy generally. And that’s dangerous.

“My advice to President Trump is, if you want at this late stage in the game to be remembered as somebody who put country first, it’s time for you to do the same thing,” Obama said.
