

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has appointed 27 Sole Administrators to superintend the affairs of the Local Government Councils.
The Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy, Imo State, Declan Emelumba, in a statement, said that the SOLADs will pilot the affairs of the local government until credible local government elections in the state are conducted in the next 60 days.
For Isiala Mbano he appointed Okoroike Chika, Dr. Obi Emeka P for Onuimo, Acho Asiegbu for Okigwe, Obioma Ehirim for Obowo, Chief Uche Nwodu for Ehime Mbano, Chukwuma Onyema for Ihitte Uboma, Okwaraigwe Nnamdi for Oru East, Ibekaeme Friday for Orsu.
Others are for Orlu, Isaiah Chinedu Ezeogu; Oguta, Dr. Abiaziem Chima; Oru West, Ikenna Adikibe, Ohaji/Egbema: Chief Onyeaju Princewill. He also appointed Chief Paul Duru for Nwangele, Chief Kenneth Ukah for Isu,. Odunze Ajaero JP for Nkwerre; Anaemem Obikaeze for Njaba; Okechukwu Okwara to oversee Ideato South and Ozigbo Michael for Ideato North.
For Ahiazu Mbaise he appointed Larry Obinna Chikwe, Nwachukwu Chinedum A for Ezinihitte Mbaise; Nwanegwo Ifunanya for Mbaitoli, Justice Nzeh for Ikeduru; Chief Nnamdi Anyanwu for Aboh Mbaise; Kizito Onuoha for Ngor Okpala; Nwankwo Victor for Owerri West; Chidiebere Emeribe for Owerri Municipal and Lucky Abaronye for Owerri North.
The Commissioner noted that the appointments are with immediate effect.
This is the third time the Governor has appointed the Sole Administrators to oversee the affairs of the 27 Local Government Councils, assuring that the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission will conduct the LG election.
However, until the dissolved ISIEC is reconstituted, the process of holding local government elections may not be in sight.
