Varsity Student Who Bent Down To Pick Her Book In Kogi, Finds Self In Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC,  Kwara State Command on Monday, said it has recovered a 19-year-old student of the Kogi State University, Fauziya Muhammed, who said she found herself in the state capital after she bent down to pick up her book in the neighbouring state.

The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Umar Mohammed, told journalists that the Kogi State University student was found wandering.

Mohammed said members of the Ajegunle Isale community, along Egbejila Road in Ilorin, handed over Muhammed to the command’s Intelligence Department.

He said: “The girl was found wandering before she was brought to us.

“During interrogation, she said she did not know how she got to Ilorin.

“She remembered being a 400-level student of Kogi State University in Ayingba and was going home from school when her book fell.

“She said she bent down to pick her book from the floor and found herself in Ilorin.”

Mohammed said the girl’s family had been contacted and an uncle, Malam Salihu Aliu, would soon be in Ilorin to take her back home.

The NSCDC official, however, said the victim had psychological trauma and needed to be mentally stabilised at the command’s clinic before going back home.

The Commandant thanked the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his kind gesture in financing the hospital bills and making available transportation for the girl to return home.
