Why Ummarried Women Above 30 Shouldn’t Consider Abortion Says Uche Ogbodo

Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo, in an Instagram live session on Wednesday advised unmarried women who have attained the age of 30 and above should not contemplate abortion because they may never be able to conceive again.

The actress in the Instagram live session, addressed women’s struggle with societal pressure when it comes to marriage and childbearing.

She cited herself as an instance, Ogbodo lamented the stigmatisation of women who have babies out of wedlock in the society.

The movie star, however, said she is not disturbed by the criticisms, noting that she is happy having a boyfriend.

“Many girls between 30 to 40 are dying to be married, to have a family, doing all sort of things so they can have a baby…some of them wait till 45 yet no husband. This is because the society will criticise them for having a baby out of wedlock,” she said.

“You’re aborting a baby at 35 and 40 because of what people would say, are you okay? When you get to 40 and you’re pregnant without a husband, please don’t abort it. If you do who will take care of you when you are old?”

The actress cum producer also said women must ditch the mentality that they must get married at any cost.

“It’s so painful when I see a lot of girls my age, they don’t look beautiful anymore and they were so pretty. I saw one yesterday I had to go back to the page to refresh…she was looking haggard, old and ugly,” she added.

“Please, stop killing your children, especially when you’re of age. Have your kids. If marriage comes, marry oh, if marriage no come, raise your children now. It’s not everyone that must get married.

“I’m 34. I already have a kid. This is going to be my second child. I have a boyfriend who loves me, I’m happy and I’m having my baby.”

Ogbodo had recently disclosed that she is expecting her second baby.
