Tuition Deposit For International Student Applicants

Effective January 1, 2024 Wingate University requires all admitted international student applicants to pay a non-refundable tuition deposit of $2,200 (USD). International students are those who require a F1 visa or have a current visa that allows study in the United States (H4, J2, etc.). Once an international student is admitted, the tuition deposit is paid, and the applicant has submitted all required documents to qualify for an I-20, Wingate University will issue the necessary immigration documents. The deposit will be noted on the Form I-20. We are currently experiencing a high volume of applicants, so please allow several weeks for processing.

APPLYING DEPOSIT: Upon arriving at Wingate University, the student must complete the new student orientation and be fully enrolled in classes. The tuition deposit will then be applied to the student’s first semester of tuition.

DEPOSIT FORFEIT: Should the student not enroll at Wingate University, or transfer to or attend a different school, before or during the first semester of attendance at Wingate University, the tuition deposit will be forfeited.

DEFERRAL: For those applicants who are admitted, but defer attendance, Wingate University will hold the tuition deposit for up to one year.

REFUND EXCEPTION: The tuition will only be refunded if the student is denied a visa (written proof is required). The tuition deposit will be returned (minus any processing fees).
