Yuletide: PDP Decries Kwara’s Exclusion From 50% Transportation Subsidy

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has expressed concern over the non-inclusion of the state from the Federal Government’s intervention to subsidise the cost of transportation to states during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The party described the exclusion of Kwara as a bad omen and attestation that no one was projecting the interest of the state at the centre.

The PDP, in a statement released on Saturday by its Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Adewara, said it was regrettable that the Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who is the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, had relocated his office to Abuja to concentrate on the forum’s assignments while governance was suffering back home.

“As a party, we join the good people of Kwara in questioning the public benefit Kwarans have gained from Governor Abdulrazaq’s chairmanship of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, especially when he seemingly cannot effectively negotiate the interests of his people at the federal executive council during decision-making processes by the Federal Government.”
