Zidane’s Son, Enzo Zidane, Retires From Football At 29

Enzo Zidane, son of football legend Zinedine Zidane, has officially retired from professional football at the age of 29.

According to reports from Diario AS on Tuesday, Enzo, who last played for Fuenlabrada in Spain’s third tier, has decided to step away from the game to focus on personal matters, including his family and investments.

Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the news, stating, “Zinedine Zidane’s son Enzo has retired from football at the age of 29, reports @diarioas.

“He last played for Fuenlabrada in the 3rd tier of Spanish football and he wants to focus on private stuff, including his investments. Enzo Zidane has retired from professional football at the age of 29, and will focus on his family and other investments.”

Enzo, the eldest of Zidane’s four sons, had a decade-long career that saw him make 203 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 24 assists.

His career included stints with Real Madrid Castilla, Alavés, Lausanne, Rayo Majadahonda, Aves, Almeria, and Rodez Aveyron before concluding with Fuenlabrada, where he made 29 appearances.

His most notable moment came during his single appearance for Real Madrid’s senior team, where he scored on his debut in a 6-1 Copa del Rey victory over Cultural Leonesa.

While Enzo has chosen to leave football behind, his brothers remain active in the sport.

Luca Zidane is currently Eibar’s starting goalkeeper, Theo Zidane plays midfield for Córdoba in the third tier, and the youngest, Elyaz Zidane, recently joined the Real Betis academy and represents France at the U-17 level.
