Zlatan Ibile Opens Up on Challenges of Fatherhood, Says “I Wasn’t Prepared For It”,

When popular musician, Zlatan Ibile, became a father at just 25, it wasn’t fame or awards that defined him; it was fear.

The rapper, known for his energetic street anthems and bold personality, opened up about how welcoming his son five years ago completely reshaped his life and mindset.

In a recent episode of ‘Is This A Safe Space? podcast, Zlatan shared that fatherhood came with both joy and panic. He admitted that he wasn’t fully prepared for the sudden responsibilities that came with being a dad: paying rent in London, providing for his child, and managing the uncertainty of fame.

“The birth of my son changed me,” he said. “It made me realise life was getting more serious. I wasn’t prepared. I started paying rent in London at 25. I was scared I might not be able to keep up with the bills because people were saying I might not last more than three years in the industry.”

That fear, he explained, was what pushed him to become more disciplined, cutting down on spending, saving more, and learning to prioritize long-term stability over short-term pleasure.

Today, Zlatan says fatherhood didn’t just humble him — it made him wiser. The once carefree hitmaker now speaks like a man who has learned to balance fame with family, success with sacrifice.

Fans online have praised him for opening up, calling his story “refreshingly real” and “proof that even stars go through the same struggles.”

Zlatan’s story is one of growth… from street king to devoted father, from living for the moment to living for his son.
